Our Mission
We exist to make software work for companies that don't fit the box.
We believe software should adapt to your business — not the other way around. That's why we build tools shaped by the workflows you already have, not the ones we think you should. Whether it's a bilingual crew on a remote job site or a manager juggling payroll across a dozen projects, our software meets people where they actually work.
How we got here
Built from a real problem, in a real place.
Zane Gillette runs construction crews, manufactures industrial equipment, and farms — all in and around Burley, Idaho. Across his companies, he cycled through three or four time-tracking apps over five or six years. None of them worked.
Timecards were filled out after the day ended. Reporting was inconsistent. Managing a bilingual crew across multiple job numbers made an already complicated process even harder — Spanish and English speaking workers alike were overwhelmed by job codes, record keeping, and software that was never built with them in mind.
Zane Gilletteis a man of action who works alongside his teams in the field every day. He saw firsthand how hard software can be for people whose job isn't sitting at a desk. His vision was something dead simple — easy enough for anyone on the job site, with automation handling most of the clocking process. One scan, clocked in.
He assembled a team of college graduates to design and build an app for his own company. That product became Shift Scan. When other companies started asking for it, he created Exactix Corp to bring the software to market — and to keep building tools that solve real problems for working teams.
See what we built →Who We Serve
Built for the people who build everything else.
Shift Scan is purpose-built for construction companies, general contractors, and field service teams who manage hourly workers across multiple job sites. Our customers range from five-person framing crews to multi-site operations with hundreds of workers spread across different job numbers and locations.
We built Shift Scan for the crews that get overlooked by enterprise software — bilingual teams, workers in areas with unreliable connectivity, and people whose primary job has nothing to do with a screen. If your workforce spends more time on a job site than in front of a computer, we built this for you.
The Team
Built by a small team that ships.
Exactix Corp is a lean startup. Three developers work directly with our founder to design, build, and maintain Shift Scan — from the mobile app to the manager dashboard.

Devun Durst
Team Lead · Project Manager · Full-Stack
Leads the development team and manages the product roadmap. Devun bridges the gap between Zane's field-driven vision and the engineering work needed to ship it — writing code across the full stack while keeping the project on track.

Zachary Robker
UX/UI Designer · Full-Stack
Designs the interfaces that construction crews actually use — then builds them. Zachary owns the user experience from wireframe to production, making sure every screen works for someone scanning a QR code with one hand on a job site.

Sean Walker
Full-Stack
Builds and maintains the core systems behind Shift Scan — from the mobile app's offline sync engine to the dashboard's real-time data pipeline. Sean focuses on the infrastructure that makes the product reliable at scale.
How We Build
The principles behind every decision.
These aren't aspirational statements on a wall. They're the rules we use to settle debates, cut scope, and decide what to build next.
Field-Tested Before Shipped
Every feature gets tested on a real job site before it reaches production. If it doesn't work for someone wearing gloves in a muddy trench, it doesn't ship.
Simple Beats Clever
Our users aren't software people — they're builders, foremen, and crew leads. We choose the straightforward solution every time, even when a more complex one looks impressive on paper.
Automation Over Data Entry
If a worker has to type something that a QR code or GPS can handle, we've failed. We push as much of the clocking process into automation as possible so crews can focus on their actual work.
Built for Everyone on the Crew
Software that only works for English speakers or tech-savvy managers isn't good enough. We build for bilingual crews, for workers who've never used an app like this, and for the person on the job — not just the person in the office.
Earn Trust with Transparency
We publish clear privacy policies, explain exactly what data we collect and why, and give workers visibility into their own time records. Trust is built by being straightforward about how the software works.
